I tried several video converters and none succeeded to satisfy my needs for a simple, user-friendly and working video converter, excepted Transcoder. Simple user interface, stable, no over-complicated settings, all the formats I need, and most important, it just works. In one word: Perfect :) Arista doesn't allow to choose basic settings like container or audio format, unless you write a predef yourself. It took me some time to figure out that in order to convert a .MPG to xvid .AVI I needed to choose the DVD Player predef. Transmageddon simply did not work at all. Hybrid is over-complicated and seemed to work randomly. Transcoder is the clear winner according to me. Plus it comes with a .DEB package installer!
